September 11, 2012

This morning we had our consulate appointment.  This is where we turn in all our paperwork for our adoption to be completed on the U.S. side and will allow us to get her U.S. visa to come home.  Our guide took us to the building and dropped us off. (They're not allowed past the 3rd floor.)  We went in with all the other adoptive families.  After a few instructions, we said the oath and then they started calling us up one by one to take our paperwork.  After they take your paperwork, you're free to go.

On our way back to the hotel, we dropped Troy off at a tea shop to stock up.  The driver dropped the rest of us back at the hotel.   Later in the afternoon, Shaoey and I walked down to a market while the rest went swimming.

We headed back to the island.  I needed to pick up a dress that didn't make it into my bag and decided to hit one more store while there.  It's called A Gift from China and it benefits orphans.  We ate at Lucy's, a tradition.  TingTing wasn't feeling well tonight.  I think the heat and past few days of food got to her.  She only ate a bite or two of noodles.  She got sick when we got back to the hotel.  Gave her some meds and she seemed fine the next morning.
